Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates the feature. That provider handles the request and supplies its results. Arkansas Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Ordinary server records collect limited technical facts when an Arkansas Criminal History page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- Visited pages and the time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The referring site, when one is reported
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help measure aggregate use, such as popular Arkansas resource pages and common exit points. A browser can block or remove cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Maintaining site availability and performance
- Finding and correcting technical faults
- Measuring which pages are useful or need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect general interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Arkansas Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes reference material about records held by ACIC, Arkansas State Police, the Arkansas Department of Corrections, the Arkansas Sex Offender Registry, state courts, and local agencies across 75 counties. Arkansas's Freedom of Information Act, Ark. Code Ann. § 25-19-101 et seq., governs access to covered public records held by government custodians. Criminal-history dissemination is also limited by Ark. Code Ann. § 12-12-1009. Neither law makes this private reference site the custodian of those records. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report, and Arkansas Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a tool is subject to that provider's privacy policy rather than this one. Each provider chooses its own retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to ACIC, Arkansas State Police, court portals, county offices, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves Arkansas Criminal History, the destination's policy controls. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to recognize activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs on their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query sent through their tool
- Advertising networks serving material on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, and Arkansas Criminal History cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such information is identified, a deletion request may be made.
Your Data Rights
Data rights depend on the law that applies where a visitor lives. Arkansas FOIA concerns records held by covered public bodies and does not create access rights to a private website's files. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Request access to personal data held about that visitor
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion where the law provides that option
- Object to or opt out of certain processing when available

This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. An updated version will appear here with its new effective date.
